Early metro subway users frustrated
THOUSANDS of early users of the Panama Metro subway had to revert to buses and taxis to get to work on Friday March 31 due to lack of trains.
Maintenance work during the night triggered a security system, and only four trains were able to operate.
The lack of service – which is scheduled to start operating at 5:00 a.m.- annoyed hundreds of users. as they moved to lines at bus stops or hailed taxis, reports La Prensa.
According to the Metro, the problem was in the y Curundú yards and workshops
On its Twitter social network, Metro reported that it began the service with four trains that left from San Isidro, while maintenance personnel solved the problem. An hour later it announced that trains would be sent to all stations.
Central America’s first railway line carries more than 230,000 passengers daily.
