Bridge of Americas 6 year repair job near end
REPAIR WORK on the Bridge of The Americas, that began over six years ago with a near $83 million price tag is 95 percent complete.
The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) made the announcement after The MOP Minister Ramón Arosemena, Completed a tour of the structure.
According to the MOP, progress was seen in the reinforcement of the bridge slab, complete painting of the structure, change of hardware, repair and coating of batteries, rehabilitation of structural and non-structural elements, among other aspects.
The contract for the works with MCM Global amounts to $82, 843, 714 and 31 cents
The work began in December 2010 and is expected to conclude at the end of this month.
