5.0 quake empties Metro stations,offices
PANAMA METRO subway stations and some buildings in Panama city were evacuated on Monday, February 20 when an earthquake reported as 5.0 on the Richter scale, rocked homes and offices. Tremors were also felt in many districts of the Interior.
The quake was at 2. 35 pm, and lasted a few seconds. At Newsroom Panama it moved office furniture.
Civil defense (Sinaproc) director José Donderis, said that no injuries or damage were reportedbut checks were being conducted across Panama and Panama West provinces,
As a precaution, underground Metro stations were evacuated.
