Metro line 2 27 percent advanced

AFTER  13 months of construction work Metro line  2 is 27 percent advanced,  and 12 of the 16 stations on the line are underway  says  Metro Director Roberto Roy. Agustín Arias,  Metro Director of projects and planning  said that, to date, the agency has been able to optimize the location of stations and access to them. All the stations are supposed to be completed by the end of next year. The Metro also plans to expand the trains on line 1 from three  to five cars. This will increase the capacity of each train to 600.

December 6, 2016: Visit to the site

December 7, 2016: Approval meeting

February 15, 2017: Receipt of prequalification proposals

Late 2017 to early 2018: Start of the construction phase

Period of execution: four years

Late 2021 Conclusion of works
