‘Otto’ evacuates tourists from Guna Yala
TOURISTS and settlers on Guna Yala Islands were evacuated on Tuesday Nov 22, because of Tropical Storm Otto.
The order came from The General Congress of Guna To stop the arrival of people the Llano Cartí road has been closed until Friday, November 25. The transfer of passengers by sea has also been suspended.
“This situation is difficult on the islands. This morning, the General Guna Congress and Niga Kantule port staff had to answer a rescue call to remove people from Gordidub, which is rapidly eroding due to the impact of the waves,” said a statement from the congress.
