Weather alert upgraded to yellow

A 72-HOUR  yellow weather   alert was issued  by the Emergency Operations Center (COE) of the National Civil Protection System, Sinaproc,  on  Monday, November 21.

The alert  is for the regions of Chiriquí, Veraguas, Bocas del Toro, Ngabe Buglé and Colón.

Green alert
A green alert was declared for the rest of Panama, due to the low pressure system located in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Costa Rica and northern Panama.

The  low pressure system continues to maintain its intensity in some sectors of the country, causing rains in the last 12 hours, on  the Panama-Costa Rica border, the Pacific slope sector in Chiriqui, as well as in the east, west and Metropolitan area of the country.

The homes of close to  a thousand people have already been affected by flooding in Chiriqui.
