New restrictions on billboards
LESS THAN a year after the introduction of a law regulating the placement of billboards in Panama City it has been modified by the Municipal Council.
The law prohibits the placement of billboards on busy streets where they could be a distraction for drivers.
Changes published in the Government Gazette list specific locations where billboards will be totally banned.
They are Ave Balboa and Cinta Costera; Via Argentina from Via Espana to Manuel Esperosa Balista; Ave Manuel Batista from Via Espana to the elevated roadway on Via Transistmica; Ave Cincuentanario fr the end of Via Israel to Atlapa; Via Santa Elena from Via Porras to Cincuentenario; Areas designated as historic, Casco Viejo and roads leading to Panama Vieja.
