Access point to Volcan Baru closed

ACCESS TO Volcan Baru through Los Llanos has been closed by The Ministry of the Environment.

The decision was made after two hikers had to be rescued in the area.

The area is one of four access points to Volcan Baru. Ministry Regional Director Yilka Aguirre also warned hikers to use experienced guides when using the park.

“Places are so similar it is easy to get lost,” Aguirre said. “What we want is for people to be safe.”
