OFF THE CUFF: Returning foreign residents to be fingerprinted

STARTING THIS WEEK  returning foreign residents will  have to join the  immigration line reserved for tourists  as the  National Immigration implements a program  to fingerprint all visitors to Panama.

“This system seeks to strengthen the security measures for entry into the country,” the agency said.

Visitors will only be fingerprinted once. The measure will also apply to foreigners living in Panama.

The change will mean that foreign residents will  not be  able to use the line reserved for native Panamanians.
