Transport Authority lifts late payment charge
IF YOU have an unpaid ticket from Panama’s transport authority (ATTT) that was issued before Oct 31 you will get an early Christmas gift.
The ATTT has announced it will not charge people the 10 percent surcharge for failing to pay a fine on time during November and December.
According to a notice published in the Government Gazette, the grace period only applies to infractions committed prior to Oct. 31.
“Drivers can pay outstanding tickets without incurring the penalty for being late,” the bulletin said.
During the first nine months of the year, the agency issued 440,063 tickets.
