Arts and crafts fair to beat Christmas rush

By Margot Thomas

OVER 200  ARTISANS  from across the region will be exhibiting their wares at the  XXIII International Arts and Crafts Fair at Atlapa this weekend..

It’s a great opportunity to do some early Christmas  gift buying before the shop-till- you-drop season kicks in,

You will also get   to see artisans from Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Cuba and Colombia, at work and to sample national foods foods and witness traditional folklorico dancing and entertainment.

The fair  also  enables visitors to help  those  whose  sole means of supporting their families  is through the sale of the items they make, often entailing long hours of work.

Items on sale can range from $1 to $150.

The activity takes place in Atlapa from Friday October 28  to Sunday Oct  30, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm

The event  also contributes to foundations that support people with disabilities.
