New UK ambassador to Panama named

THE UNITED KINGDOM’S  next ambassador to Panama will be  Damion Andrew Potter.

He will  take up his post in August 2017.replacing the current Ambassador Dr  Ian Collard, who will occupy another post in the British diplomatic service.

Potter is currently the deputy representative and director of international trade at the United Kingdom’s office in Taipei, Taiwan.

He joined the diplomatic service in 2000 and has had assignments in Russia and Sweden.

He has also held positions at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in London.

Before becoming a diplomat  he was ESPN director of communications for Europe, the Middle East , Africa Asia and the Pacific.
