Prizewinning performer at Carols by Candlelight

MIROSLAVA HERRERA, lead singer and song writer  with Afrodisíaco,  winners  of   the  top  award  at  Latin America’s most prestigious  music festival,  will be performing at the 6th annual Carols By Candlelight concert .

Afrodisíaco won the   Silver Seagull at the Viña del Mar in Chile over competition from across the continent.

The Carols  charity  event  organized by the CanadaPLUS Foundation, will be at the Mirador del Pacifico amphitheater  at the Fish Market end of  the Cinta Costera on. Saturday December 3.

The concert begins at 6.30 pm.

Herrera  joins four choirs that will be  presenting  a  medley of Christmas  classics, and inviting  the  candle waving audience to join in the singing of a  well-known carol  after each presentation.

The words are in a bi-lingual illustrated book, distributed free through retail outlets across Panama city.

The choirs
The participating  choirs are: El Colegio de Panama, directed by Meryelis Florez, making their second appearance; Angelito de Matrimonios en Victoria, directed By Ana de Watt: King’s College directed by  Vanessa Wade, which has performed at every event since 2011); Coro JP II, Directed by Danny Gonzalez appearing for the fifth time.

Herrera will be a solo performer and will lead the combined choirs for the finale.

She  will also combine with Karlita Delegado to MC the show which will be stage managed by Sarina Claes.

The concert is free if you want to bring your own stool or cushion and  sit on the perimeter of the amphitheater.

To ensure that you are part of the action,  you can obtain souvenir candles at $5 and $10. (The $10 LED candles with replaceable batteries last for 50 hours or more).

For a more comfortable perch nearer to the stage you can reserve a seat which includes a souvenir candle for $20 (silver) or $25 (gold).

All proceeds go to the CanadaPLUS Foundation’s fund raising programs for Hospital Santo Tomas, and Vision of Hope, an innovative program, training blind  and disabled  Panamanians to make jewelry and become incoming earning members of the community.
