El Salvador gang member arrested on Via Argentina
A MAN SUSPECTED of being member of Mara Salvatrucha one of the most notorious criminal gangs in in El Salvador, was arrested on Via Argentina on Saturday October 22.
Jorge Luis Medrano Blanco, 33, was being sought by the National Immigration Service (SNM), because his Panama residence permit in the country had expired.
When police, asked for his identity papers, they noticed that Medrano had several tattoos on his anatomy, identifying him as an alleged member of the Central American gang.
Three months after entering the country, El Salvador authorities notified Panama Immigration that he was linked to criminal groups and the hunt began.
The man, who admitted having belonged to the gang is being held by the SNM while the relevant procedures for deportation are made.
