Condo owners get OK to move in
THE BELEAGURED purchasers of condo apartments in the PH Scala building in Bella Vista have received permission to move into the tower that days ago was considered for possible demolition.
The City Mayor’s Office has given permission for its occupation, but local residents who opposed the construction of the building remain unhappy.
Public Works Director Antonio Docabo said that the project’s developer had corrected all the problems identified by inspectors.
“We could no longer deny them permission”, said Docabo.
The decision was not well received by Neir González, president of a group representing residents living near the building.
“There was an opportunity to set a precedent of justice that has been lost, and has instead been replaced by cronyism,” González said.
Jorge Gavrilidis, a lawyer for some of the buyers of apartments in the building, applauded the decision, saying Docabo acted correctly.
