Transit authority blitzes errant drivers
PANAMA’S Transit Authority (ATTT) is stepping up blitzes to catch errant drivers.
But in snap checks on Thursday, October 13 some 27 drivers were snagged for contempt for being no shows at hearings for previous offences.
A total of 81 were sanctioned in the metropolitan area.
Three vehicles were towed away including , including one transport bus whose driver had no licence.
The regional director of the ATTT in San Miguelito, Roy Harington said the control and supervision also included public authority vehicles, public passenger transport and cargo trucks.
He added that in the area of Costa del Este (Juan Diaz) and Punta Pacifica (San Francisco) the ATTT carried out an operation to remove vehicles parked on sidewalks, near hydrants and vehicles with yellow lines.
