2nd criminal complaint against judges in Martinelli clique ruling
THE SECOND complaint against judges involved in a contentious ruling involving members of Ricardo Martinelli’s inner circle, was filed on Tuesday October 11.
It was prepared the law firm of Vega & Alvarez against Judge Wilfredo Sáenz and filed with the Secretariat General of the National Assembly.
The complaint is over his decision to dismiss money laundering charges against 14 people linked to former Supreme Court Justice Alejandro Moncada Luna.
Vega & Alvarez also filed a lawsuit against María de Lourdes Estrada de Villar, the other judge in the case who supported the decision to dismiss the charges.
The criminal complaint filed today alleges the judge committing crimes against public administration, corruption of public servants and conspiracy.
The defendants included former Vice President Felipe Virzi and Panama Canal Board Member Nicolás Corcione, as well María de el Pilar Fernández, the wife of Moncada Luna.
