Cloudy future for Anthropology Museum
PANAMA’S ANTHROPOLOGY Museum which has exhibited its 16,000 artifacts for seven years will not be open until at least 2018.
Renovations to the museum on Plaza 5 de Mayo in Santa Ana. which was once the city’s passenger rail terminal ,will take at least two years.
National Institute of Culture (INAC) Museum Coordinator Orlando Hernandez said that the museum closed its doors in 2013
Former Director Carlos Fitzgerald recalled that the last time its 16,000 artifacts were displayed was in 2009 in Ancón.
He said the “reformulation of the permanent exhibition” might never be achieved.
