TRAFFIC: Panama nears 5000 traffic accidents monthly
DRIVING in Panama continues to become more hazardous with a 13.2 percent increase in traffic accidents in the first six months of the year over the same period in 2015.
The Comptroller General reports that January to July there were 29,746 accidents across the country.
During the first six months of this year there were 270 deaths a 14.4 percent increase, with thw fatalities on track
Of the total number of accidents, 18,651 were in the province of Panama, followed by West Panama (3,896) Chiriqui (2,231) and Colon (1,711.)
