Government gifts $2.7 million land to archdiocese
THE ARCHDIOCESE of Panama will receive two government-owned parcels valued at $2.7 million.
The gift approved by The National Economic Council ,follows an earlier commitment of $12 million for the restoration of the cathedral in Casco Viejo
According to information disclosed by the agency, the donated land belonged to the National Mortgage Bank.
The first of the lots is in the district of Arraijan, and will be used to build a National Sanctuary.
The second lot is in Juan Díazand lot will be used for the construction of a parish and educational complex with a focus on the integration and inclusion of disabled students in the community.
The Archdiocese of Panama is overseen by Archbishop José Domingo Ulloa.
