Heavy rain turns taps off for 22,000
OVER 22,000 people in Penonomé have been without water without water since Sunday, September 11.
Paradoxically the cause of the turned off taps is heavy rainfall.
The rain caused the flooding of the Zarati River in Penonomé affected the production at the water treatment plant.
The water and sewer agency Idaan reported that the flooding caused problems in water pumps at the plant.
Staff were working at the plant on Monday to clear mud and debris from the intake valves.
Work had to be suspended in the afternoon afternoon due to more heavy rains in the area. Lots of water but none to drink.
