Migrant family drowned in Darien
A FAMILY of migrants, including a four year old child was found dead on Thursday morning, September 1, in Darienprovince
Fishermen reported finding the body of a child on the bank of the Tuqueza river.
Units of the First Eastern Brigade of the National Border Service (SENAFRONT), went to the scene and meters away found the bodies of a male and female adult floating on the river.
“From their features it was presumed that they were extra-continental migrants,” said a statement from the institution.
None of the bodies found had identity documents.
Authorities presume that a head of water, of the recent rains in the sector, was the cause of the deaths.
