A TOTAL of 956 Panamanians who were married 20 or more years decided not to wait “until death do us part” and divorced in 2015.
They were part of 3,295 couples who parted ways according to the report ” Divorces by duration of marriage,” during 2015, an average of nine divorces a day
The major causes for separation of couples with 20 or more years of marriage were: “de facto separation for more than two years” and “mutual agreement”.
During the same period, 12,000 couples were married ensuring continuation of business for divorce lawyers.
