New Tocumen access road
GETTING TO and from Tocumen International Airport will become easier on Thursday, August 18 w th the opening of the new access road from the Corredor Sur.
The road is 2.6 kilometers long and has two lanes in both directions.
The project was built on the land that Tocumen bought from the University of Panama for more than $100 million.
Although the construction of the road was completed months ago, the road has not been used due to work on the new terminal at the airport.
The route will make it easier to get to the airport as it avoids construction on Avenida Domingo Díaz that is being done as part of Metro Line 2
An exclusive space will also be open for taxi drivers and people waiting for arrivals. That space will be outside of the airport parking lot.
The airport currently handles 13 million passengers a year, a number that is expected to increase to 20 million whenthe new terminal is finished.
