Short brings day long Metro shutdown
PANAMA’ METRO Line 1 was closed down from 8.20 am on Saturday August 6, due to a “failure in the power system” Service is said to resume on Sunday.
The day had started with a partial service between Fernandez Cordoba and San Isidro stations Then it was decided to suspend operations to “”avoid further inconvenience to users,” according to a Metro Tweet.
A later announcement said that there had been a “short” at Santo Tomas station.
Earlier in the day the Metro authority issued a statemen:”Right now all staff of the Directorate of Operations and Metro Maintenance Metro is addressing the impact to restore service to users as soon as possible,” There was no estimated time for solving the problem said a follow up Tweet.
Meanwhile, the company reinforced Mi Bus northern routes and on Via Espana.
Late in the afternoon the authority announced that service would b resumd on Sunday, August 7.
