Funds allocated forMetro expansion
PANAMA’S draft state budget includes funds for extensions to both Metro lines 1 and 2 and for the start of Line 3.
President Juan Carlos Varela confirmed Friday, July 23, that the 2017 budget includes $661 million for the extensions of lines 1 and 2 of the Panama Metro.
In press conference after aspecial Cabinet Council, Varela announced that line 1 will be extended to Villa Zaita in Las Cumbres.
line 2, which is under construction, will be extended to the El Dorado Commercial Center on Avenida Ricardo J. Alfaro.
The 2017 budget amounts to $21.67 billion, and includes funds for the start of the construction of line 3 of the Metro, which will extend from Albrook to La Chorrera.
