Panama Olympic hope wins in Monaco
PANAMANIAN sprinter Alonso Edward won the Diamond League 200 meters event in Monaco, France pm Saturday July 15 in a time of 20.10 secs, which puts him atop the League table in that event.
Edward is the reigning Diamond League 200 meter champion In five races of the 2016 Diamond League, Edward has recorded two wins, two seconds and a third places in this years event and leads the table with 36 points
His best time this season was achieved on May 6 in Doha, Qatar, when he clocked 20.06 seconds, but he came in second.
The Diamond League will be reactivated In Lausanne, Switzerland on August 22 after the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.
Edward will now be focusing on training for Rio , hoping to put Panama on the medal podium.
