Taps back on in Panama, San Miguelito
DRINKING WATER from the Chilibre water treatment plant began to flow to Panama City and San Miguelito at 2:25 p.m. on Saturday July 9, says the Water and Sewage Authority (Idaan),
Idaan technicians completed the maintenance work on the pipeline which supplies the capital city, at 2:00 p.m. and the 10 engines that pump drinking water to the distribution lines are now working at full capacity.
According to the company, the work was completed and categorized as a “success”. So it started sending water to high and distant points. It also began filling the tanks located in Tinajitas, which will take between about six and 12 hours.
Water supplies suspended in many parts of Panama and San Miguelito ate expected to be fully back to normal by Sunday.
