Cocaine spiced beans found in drug bust
OVER 7,000 capsules of cocaine hidden inside beans were found during a National Border Service (Senafront) operation in the Darién on Monday, June 27.
Prosecutors said a person of Colombian nationality was arrested.
The cocaine was found in nine sacks of beans at the site known as Los Organos Another four kilos of cocaine were found in a residence that is under construction.
Officials of the Public Prosecutor’s Office participated in the operation.
Markel Iván Mora, first superior prosecutor of crimes related to drugs, said that the find reveals a new modality for drug trafficking, hiding the drugs in the shells of beans.
