$178.4 million hospital contract

THE CONTRACT for the construction of the  $178.4 million Social Security Hospital of Northern Panama, , has been awarded to Northern Panama Consortium, made up of  of the construction companies Nova, S.A. and BTD Proyectos 12.

The consortium won the contract after it was awarded the best score by an evaluating committee.

The award was completed despite a claim presented by a consortium led by the company IBT. The claim was rejected.

The contract includes “comprehensive technical studies, architectural designs, development and approval of plans and environmental impact studies, furniture, medical equipment, training of personnel, and preventive or corrective maintenance.”

The resolution for the award was published in portal Panamacompra.

The hospital will be built on Vía Transístmica in La Esperanza.

The site is 5.1 hectares, which has access to public utilities. Nova, S.A. also built the El Vigia Hospital in Chitré and the maternity ward at Santo Tomás Hospital.
