CD activist banned from public office for a year
THE FORMER Democratic Change representative for the village of El Bebedero, Tonosí district in Los Santos province , has been fined $400 and banned from holding public office for 12 months
Nidia Cureña, a prominent CD activist in the Azuero regin attended a direct process hearing and , accepted the facts of misappropriation for having received and distributed Community Board materials when she no longer held the position.
The Los Santos supervising judge, Brigido Alonzo, ordered the penalties.
Cureña was representatives of El Bebedero between January 2013 and June 30, 2014, after the representative Ambrosio Saez died in a traffic accident.
