Top judge voted down 8-1 in Martinelli son case
A LENGTHY attempt by Supreme Court president Ayu Prado to justify his attempt to cite a prosecutor for contempt pf court, effectively halting a case against the son of former president Ricardo Martinelli, did not hold water with his fellow judges during a full plenaryof the court this week.
They voted 8-1 against him his move to declare Fourth Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Ruth Morcillo in contempt in her investigation of banking accounts of Ricardo Martinelli Linares in The Buko Millionaire investigation.
When the investigation was suspended in January of this year, soon after Ayu Prado’s controversial re-election as chief magistrate, there was a storm of protest over what was described as “justice subverted”
