Soho Mall targeted by tax raiders
SOHO MALL, Panama’s latest high end shopping mall featuring luxury luxury retail outlets and a VIP- only movie theatre, was the latest target of the Directorate General of Revenue (DGI) tax raiders.
Inspection teams moved in on Friday March 11 a to verify authorized use of fiscal equipment, among others.
During the activity, officials visited the premises of a company in the entertainment area and identified unauthorized fiscal printers and signs that informing customers of the tax and receipt requirement were missing.
The irregularities found are punishable with fines from one $1,000 to $ 5,000 and if the business is a recidivist, the DGI can close the establishment until it complies with the provisions.

Equipment authorized by the DGI is to ensure that all business premises in the country pay the ITBMS.
