Panama quintet leads in International song contest

AFRODISIAC,  the Panama  song group chosen to participate in the 57th  Vina del Mar, Chile, Festival. took top spot in the first round of the foclorico categpry  before a star studded  live audience of 15,000 people.

With  their  own composition  “Come to Panama” the quintet  received 5.7 points from the jury. Colombia followed with 5.1 and Argentina with  4.0

The United States, Chile and Peru. Will compete later in the week.

The group consists of eight musicians, but the  festival  rules allow only y five of its members to compete in the Fifth Vergara, an amphitheater with capacity for 15,000 people.

At  the opening day the Mexican singer Marco Antonio Solis was the MC , while the closer was Venezuelan Ricardo Montaner.

Throughout the week other stars will be Eros Ramazzotti, Ana Torroja, Alejandro Sanz, Lionel Richie, Rick Astley, Pablo Alboran, Nicky Jam, Don Omar and Wisin.
