15,000 without water after vegetation fire

A FIRE that burned through Saturday afternoon and into the night in  Cerro San Cristobal may have led to the loss of water on  Sunday for 15,000 people in  eight neighborhoods in the district of David, Chiriqui.

Authorities of the Water and Sewage  Systems (Idaan) are investigating whether the fire that occurred in the plains caused the rupture of  12 inch PVC.

It is unclear who started the fire.

A spokesman said for Idaan said the  network, which feeds the southern part of the city of David, was seriously affected.
