Winds cause $5000 damage to El Valle Church

 SEVERE winds last week,   damaged the roof of the San José Church in El Valle de Antón,  leaving the congregation  with a $5000 repair bill.

Félix Coronado, in charge of  repairs, said donations will be sought from the community board and private individuals.

The roof was damaged Thursday evening. Coronado said the luckily no one was in the building at the time.

He said the design of the roof will be changed to make it less likely to be damaged by further  high winds.

The repairs will likely take 45 days reports La Prensa
