THE FIFTH edition of Panama’s International Film Festival (IFF)will host five films that received a total of 10 statuettes at this year’s 30th Goya Awards, presented by the Academia de las Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas de España.

Cesc Gay’s Truman was the stand out of the night with five awards: Best Film, Best Director (Cesc Gay), Best Original Screenplay (Cesc Gay and Tomás Aragay), Best Leading Actor (Ricardo Darín) and Best Supporting Actor (Javier Cámara).
Retribution, the new thriller by Dani de la Torre, carried off the Goya for Best Editing and Best Sound.
El Clan, the true story picture directed by Argentinian helmer Pablo Trapero,won the Best Spanish Language Foreign Film.
Spy Time, directed by Javier Ruiz Caldera, bagged the statuette for Best Special Effects.
Best European Film-winner Mustang, by Turkish-French director Deniz Gamze Ergüven, will be featured at IFF Panama’s International Showcase. |
