Passengers lose limbs in bus rollovers
THE DRIVERS of the Diablos Rojos (red devils) buses involved in a Wednesday, Feb. 2, crash in Colon on that injured up to 67 passengers, many seriously, including two who lost limbs, could face severe sanctions.
Transit Authority and Land Transport (ATTT), David Ramirez, said that after the investigations the penalties for the drivers involved will be evaluated.
Ramirez told Metro AM News that sanctions range from suspension to removal of the operating license as it was an accident that left people seriously injured.
The crash overturned two “red devils” (discarded US school buses) on the Colón- Buena Vista route.
Ramirez said that the import of such buses was banned over a year ago and added that drivers should be aware of their responsibility to passengers.
