Waterless Saturday for Panama, San Miguelito.
WHILE the debate continues over the use of water for Carnival frolic’s under gushing hose pipes in the midst of a drought caused by the El Nino phenomenon, San Miguelito, and Panama City will have the taps turned off on the first day of Carnival, Saturday February 6.
Residents of the capital and the district of San Miguelito will be without drinking water for eight hours .
The suspension will be from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, says the Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (IDAAN).
The measure is to allow work on the electrical sub-station and repair of valves at Chilibre water treatment plant, according to the Idaan.
The organization asks users to understand and take necessary measures to prevent water shortages.
