Motorcyclists to cross Darien Gap, for documentary

LEGENDARY  travelers, motorcycle enthusiasts  and award winning film makers,  Charlie Boorman and Russ Malkin,  billed as “two Brits tougher than any jungle,” will be in Panama in February, aiming to cross  the Darien Gap by motorcycle,

Starting in Yaviza,  and finishing in Riosucio Panama, They  will follow the route of the Robert L Webb who crossed the Darien Gap by motorcycle in 40 years ago,  and will make a documentary that will be on BBC later this year.

Robert L Webb took four attempts to cross the Darien Gap,  Russ states he will have no problems crossing Darien Gap  and it will not be harder than any of his other adventures.

It consists of a large swathe of undeveloped swampland and forest in  Darién Province  and the northern portion of Colombia‘s Chocó Department in South America. It measures just over 160 km (99 mi) long and about 50 km (31 mi) wide. The Panamanian side, is a mountainous rainforest, with terrain reaching from 60 m (200 ft) in the valley floors to 1,845 m (6,053 ft) at the tallest peak (Cerro Tacarcuna, in the Serranía del Darién).
