Pyramid scheme plants base in Panama
A multi-level pyramid marketing scheme, Zrii has moved into Panama and has already enroled 1200 customers/agents.
The Spanish company sells health products and people earn rewards by bringing in new agents to purchase the nutritional supplements.
But critics say that the company offers unrealistic expectations for members and use high-pressure sales pitches reports La Prensa.
The move up in the company, people must constantly recruit new members.
It has reported activity in 18 countries, and uses celebrities to endorse the products.
The business model has generated questions in other countries. On February 23, 2015, the Peru Superintendency of Banking warned that Zrii had no authorization to raise money from the public in any form.
Panama has been a soft target for Pyramid scheme, the most notorious by David Murcia, the Colombian scam artist currently serving an eight year jail term in the US for money laundering with a 32 year term awaiting him in his own country. He was the center of a political storm during Ricardo Martinelli’s election campaign when it was alleged he was funding the PRD campaign. Later it was revealed he had issued checks to Martinelli’s war chest.
