Move to lift immunity from former first lady and son

ERASMO PINILLA president of the Electoral Tribunal (TE), , Magistrate will be responsible for analyzing the  request of  prosecutors for the lifting the  immunity from criminal prosecution former first lady Marta Linares de Martinelli,  and her son Ricardo Martinelli Linares.

The mother is being investigated for alleged  “”irregularities in the purchase of Christmas food bags by the  Office of the First Lady, through The National Assistance Program, (PAN) while her son is facing charges connected to a TV bingo game that netted him and his partners over $12 million in six months, before its operating license was suspended.

Both are claiming immunity because they are running for office in the March 2016 Democratic Change (CD) conference.

The CD was founded, funded, and led, by former president,Ricardo Martinelli, who has been away from Panama since January and is the subject of an Interpol Blue Alert.
