Public safety in crisis – opposition deputies
THE, FIVE armed robbers who stormed the Banistmo Bank next to the University of Technology, on Ricardo J. Alfaro on Wednesday November 18, included one woman and two juveniles.
It was Panama’s sixth bank robbery of the year , two in Banco General branches, two Banesco branches and two Banistmo.
Wednesday’s robbers fled from Tumba Muerto along the Northern Corridor and were captured after a high speed chase.
On the same day the opposition Democratic Revolutionary Party in the National Assembly demanded the government to pay greater attention to the issue of public safety, which faces “a grave crisis” as negative perceptions accelerate.
