Cuban migrants stranded in Panama
600 CUBAN MIGRANTS who have been affected by border closings are stranded in Puerto Obaldia, in the Guna Yala, Comarca who have arrived from Colombia.
The immigrants are bound for the United States but are stranded because borders have been closed.
They were heading for Colón, where they planned to continue their journey north.
Manuel Martínez, who is traveling with his family, said that they have survived numerous robbery attempts on their journey.
More than 2,600 Cubans are stranded at the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua, where they have been refused entry.
“We don’t know if our group will also suffer the same problems,” he said.
They have spent between $2,000 and $3,000 for the journey reports La Prensa.
