320 fined for health infractions

AT LEAST  320  fines ranging from $10 t0 $10,000 were handed out to food vendors by  Ministry of Health (MoH) Sanitary inspector’s during  the three days of patriotic parades November 3-5.

Some were lucky to get away with a verbal warning  but those with expired or “dubious” health cards, without  permits  or guilty of improper food handling, or failed health standards were hit.There was one case of spoiled meat an another of expired  “use-by” About 800 food stands were monitored  by 300 inspectors.

Fines were imposed in  five areas: Panama West (76), Panama West (40), San Miguelito (55), Metropolitan Health Region (93) and city of Colon (56).
