Torchlight parade

THE CELEBRATION  of the 112 years of separation of Panama from Colombia began with a torchlight parade  of  five security institutions escorting  the original flags along Avenida Balboa on Monday November 2.

Led by the Red Shirts’ (Firemen’s) band they marched from Parque Urraca to the presidential place where a symbolic presentation of the  flags was made to President Juan Carlos Varela.

The participating  institutions were:The  National Civil Protection Agency (SINAPROC) The  National Border Service, the Fire Department of Panama, The National Air Service and The National Police.
