Prosecutor calls for 10 years jail for ex-police chief
JUDGE OSCAR CARRASQUILLA will announce the sentence for former police chief and National Security Council Executive Director Guatavo Perez for gun charges in the next 30 days. The prosecutor has called for 10 years.
The announcement came during a hearing Wednesday, Octobr 21, that began at 2:30 p.m. and ended at about 4:50 p.m.
The weapons were found at his residence during a search in January that was linked to the investigation into illegal wiretaps allegedly carried out by the agency when he was in office. Several guns were found in the search that were not legal for him to have.
Perez also faces charged in the wiretapping case.
