Canal wind farm and gas terminal study
STUDIES have been announced for the development of a wind farm and natural gas terminal and a wind farm in areas under the responsibility of the Panama Canal Authorityb(ACP)
Prensa.com reports that the ACP is preparing a study for what will be a Natural Gas terminal in the areas adjacent to the waterway. Canal Administrator Jorge Quijano said that they already have a contribution of around $800,000 given by a US government department to finance the study. “With this terminal the idea is to supply natural gas to other countries in Central America, as well as using it for local power generation and supplying vessels passing through the Canal,” he said
The other project for consideration by the ACP is the installation of a wind farm on the Atlantic coast.
