1,740 foreigners wed in Panama

Some 1,740 foreigners married Panamanians in 2014 according to a report from the Comptroller General.
The figure   included 52  Panamanian women and 16 men marrying Americans.
Most  Panamanian women were married to Colombians with 137 marrying  men from the neighboring South American country, while 196 Colombian men married Panamanian women.

After America and Colombia The favorite spouses for  most women were Dominicans (38), Nicaragua (37), Spain (32), Venezuela (28) and Costa Rica (27).

After Colombia, national men married 79 Dominicans, 78 Nicaraguans, 27 Venezuelans, 28 Costa Ricans, and  16 Chinese.

653 couples where both spouses were foreigners, decided to marry in Panama.

The most common links  were  between Chinese spouses (71 weddings), Colombians (55), Venezuela (54), India(14) six Peruvian(6)  and Argentinians( 5)
