Traffic death toll reaches 314
PANAMA’S 314th traffic fatality of the year was a 63-year old man hit by a taxi in the Libertador Avenue district of La Chorrera in the early hours of Friday October 16.

Public Ministry official are conducting an investigation to determine responsibility for the accident and will decide whether the pedestrian crossed the road carelessly or if the taxi was driven at high speed.
The death toll this year seems to be on track to be lower than 2014 which closed with 426 victims, according to El Siglo. But with less than four million population, the carnage is far higher than in many major cities with far more citizens.
